On Prime Time, we discuss the debate that has cropped up over the independence and impartiality of the judiciary following Katju’s allegations of corruption in the judiciary. Former Supreme Court judge Markandey Katju alleged that three CJIs had ‘made compromises’ to ‘save a corrupt judge’ of the Madras High Court. Recently former Solicitor General Gopal Subramaniam alleged that the NDA government blocked his name to prevent him from being appointed as a judge in the Supreme Court. (Audio in Hindi)
