On Property India, we discuss whether the real estate reform moves by Maharashtra can help reduce prices of properties and bring transparency in property deals. The Maharashtra government scrapped the agricultural land conversion system that needed a collector’s approval to sell agricultural land for non-agricultural purposes. The government has also facilitated online processes register and pay stamp duty for properties, thereby aiding buyers from going through the hassles of visiting registrar offices. (Audio in Hindi)
