Passengers evacuated after smoke on IndiGo plane in New Delhi

Nearly 150 people on board an IndiGo flight from Mumbai were evacuated using emergency slides after the plane landed in Delhi this afternoon and the pilot was alerted to plumes of smoke. Airport sources told NDTV that a fire engine passing near the plane notice “heavy smoke” towards “the left hand side undercarriage of the A-320 aircraft.” The information was relayed to the Air Traffic Control which alerted the pilot to the smoke.
