Encroachments by slum dwellers and land-grabbers threatening Mumbai’s mangroves

Property India: We present to you a report on the slow destruction of Mumbai’s mangroves due to dumping of waste, encroachments by slum dwellers and land-grabbers. Social workers and residents who live around the mangrove regions say that land mafia dump building waste materials and establish slums in order to cut off the natural water supply and thereby kill the mangroves over time. This, they say will enable them get environmental clearance to construct buildings in the region. (Audio in Hindi)
