‘GDP figures show economy is on recovery path,’ says Arun Jaitley

A day after the best economic growth figures in more than two years greeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s first three months in office, the finance minister on Saturday predicted faster growth to come. Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said he expected GDP growth higher than the 5.7 per cent it clocked in the three months until June as a series of government measures take effect.
