Award winning artist of ‘Salaam Bombay’, now lives in a slum in Bangalore (Aired: Feb 2009)
On Special Report, we meet Shafiq Syed who was the lead child artist in the award winning film ‘Salaam Bombay’, and now drives an autorickshaw for a living. The film ‘Salaam Bombay’ had bagged several national and international awards and Shafiq won the 1989 National Film Award for Best Child Artist. He hopes that the children who acted in ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ do not end up becoming as poor as him. (Audio in Hindi)
