‘India is Afghanistan’s all-weather friend’

India and Afghanistan’s new governments have had their highest level meetings so far. India’s National Security Advisor Ajit Doval has met President Dr Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai, Chief Executive Dr Abdullah Abdullah, ex-President Hamid Karzai and his Afghan counterpart – NSA Hanif Atmar. In New Delhi, Afghanistan’s Interior Minister Umer Daudzai spoke to NDTV on the political, security and economic transition his country is going through. Outlining the elements needed to make this transition successful, he said India is Afghanistan’s all-weather friend.
