For the first time in India, AIIMS doctors perform TMJ replacement surgery

According to AIIMS, this is for the first time in the country that surgeons have successfully managed to replace Temporomandibular Joint (the joint between the lower jaw and skull bone) for a patient who has not been able to open his mouth for several years. Shivam Sharma from Hathras had been unable to open his mouth to talk nor was to eat for several years until his TMJ was replaced using prosthetic joints at AIIMS. (Audio in Hindi)
