Politicians debate whether the perception of West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee’s image as a leader who is simple, down-to-earth and without corruption taints has been hurt because of Saradha scam. Three major leaders of the Trinamool Congress and known to be close to Mamata Banerjee have been arrested by the CBI in connection to the Saradha chit fund scam, the latest of them being transport minister Madan Mitra.
