Supreme Court dismisses Sajjan Kumar’s plea, asks him to face trial for murder

The Supreme Court today dismissed Congress leader Sajjan Kumar’s petition to drop murder charges against him in 1984 anti-Sikh riot cases. The court asked Sajjan Kumar to face trial in a murder in Sultanpuri in Delhi, during the riots that followed the assassination of Prime Minister Indira Gandhi by her Sikh bodyguards.
