NGT issues notices to Centre and UP government on Hindon river pollution

The National Green Tribunal has issued notices to the Centre and the Uttar Pradesh about the pollution levels and presence of large quantities of cancer causing metals in Hindon, Krishna and Kali rivers. According to the petitioners, sugar mills, leather industries, chemical industries and slaughter houses in the region were dumping untreated waste water into the river and no action has been taken against them by the administration.
