Court allows all-night party just on New Year: why not every night?

The Social Network: The Bombay High Court slams the Mumbai Police for attempting to turn off the music at 1:30 am on December 31st night and allows parties to go on till 5 am. But why nights are kosher just for New Year? Why are they off limits at large to citizens, women in particular, across the country? Why is the state hell bent on ‘protecting’ the citizens with oft-harassing police patrols, than letting people have their ‘right to loiter’. We discuss on The Social Network.
