Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan, who is attending the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, says there is a case for a power tariff cut in Mumbai. In an exclusive interview to NDTV, Mr Chavan says the Cabinet is likely to take a decision to rationalise power rates in Mumbai soon. He also says since private players are involved, he will discuss the issue with the regulator and take a decision after he returns from Davos. Mr Chavan’s comments came a day after Congress MP Sanjay Nirupam began an indefinite hunger strike to demand reduction in power tariff in Mumbai.
