A minister has no right to tell cops arrest him or arrest her: Harish Salve

As the confrontation between the AAP government and Delhi Police escalates, Chief minister Arvind Kejriwal has threatened a dharna outside Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde’s office from Monday if four Delhi cops are not suspended.

The AAP government claims the cops failed to do their duty when asked to take immediate action by Delhi Law Minister Somnath Bharti and, in another case, by minister Rakhi Birla. But many have severely criticized the ministers’ move. Speaking on NDTV’s show The Buck Stops Here, senior lawyer Harish Salve said the ministers had no right to behave the way they did. But AAP member Prashant Bhushan disagrees.
