CCTV shows man snatching chain, being thrashed when caught

The audacity of a chain-snatcher targeting vulnerable senior citizens in a Mumbai suburb has been caught on security cameras last week. A young man is seen talking to an elderly woman as she is entering her apartment complex. It is broad daylight. Suddenly, he grabs her chain and tries to run away. An alert guard emerges from his booth and asks for help. Residents of the building are then seen thrashing the thief before handing him over to the police.
