Chennai residents on women’s safety in their city

Residents in Chennai have a different take on women’s safety. While Tamil Nadu is largely seen as a safe place for women, many ask, do women really feel safe in the city and the state? As the country observes the first anniversary of the gang-rape and murder of a medical student in Delhi, a group in Chennai has launched a music album “Why Be Born”, which poses tough questions on women’s safety.
