The many shades of white in nature – from ivory to sandalwood paste and jasmine flowers to ash – which are part of our living cultural tradition. It is the colour chosen by Gandhiji for its mark of purity, as the fabric of swaraj. This episode takes us on an exploratory voyage of the world of weavers in Varanasi to Gandhiji’s ashram in Ahmedabad and the temples of Nathdwara in Rajasthan to discover how white is the colour of celebration, of Holi.
