IIT-Kanpur asks students not to disclose salaries offered by companies in campus placements

IIT-Kanpur has asked students not to disclose to the public salaries offered by various companies in their campus placements. “The society has such a distorted view that candidates are judged on the basis of the salary they are paid, disregarding all their other qualities. We therefore have advised students not to disclose their salaries to the public.” says Prof. Amit Kumar who is in charge of placements at IIT Kanpur. (Audio in Hindi)
