In this Kerala village, everyone pledges an organ

Three hundred families of the Veliyambar village of Alappuzha district in Kerala have pledged to donate their organs after death – an effort started in August 2012 by a group of youngsters who had formed a sports club. The members of the Pranamam Arts and Sports Club took up the idea of collecting donor pledges after they lost a fellow-member due to kidney failure.
