The Nawaz Sharif government has detained 26/11 Mumbai attack plotter Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi under the Maintenance of Public Order Act. But as the week draws to a close – with memories of the attack on school children in Peshawar still fresh – the central debate now is on Pakistan’s flawed security policy – its clear inability to reign in Taliban terrorists killing its citizens on the one hand and its unwillingness to act decisively against terror groups using its soil to wage war against India on the other. As New Delhi sends out a strong message, will Pakistan be able to take on its own judiciary, and supply it with enough evidence against the perpetrators of 26/11?
