Mary Kom qualifies for Asian Games

MC Mary Kom has qualified for next month’s Asian Games in Incheon, South Korea, after beating Pinky Jangra in the trials, in the 49 kg category. Incidentally, it was 20 year old Pinky who had beaten the Olympic bronze medallist in the trials for the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. Pinky even won a bronze medal there. But this time’s trials were one-sided, with the judges declaring the 5-time world champion as the unanimous winner. Sarita Devi has also qualified for the Asian Games in the 60 kg category.
