Modi flags off ‘Run for Unity’ to mobilise support for Sardar Patel statue

Gujarat Chief Minister and BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi flagged off a two-kilometre “Run for Unity” in Vadodara today in what is being billed as a major mobilisation event for his dream project of building a giant statue of Sardar Patel. Dubbed the “Statue of Unity”, the 182-metre statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel – India’s iron man – is tipped to be the world’s tallest and is coming up in the middle of the Narmada river.
