New non-Brahmin priests appointed by Vitthal Rakhumai temple
For the first time in its 900-year-old history of the famous Vitthal Rakhumai temple in Pandharpur, Maharashtra has appointed non-Brahmin priests to perform the temple duties. Following a Supreme Court, order the temple committee decided to open up applications from people irrespective of their caste and gender. (Audio in Hindi)
