Residents of Valmiki Sadan, the colony where Prime Minister Narendra Modi would inaugurate a toilet block on the day of launch of Swacch Bharat campaign tell us the woes that people of their community have been facing. The inhabitants of the colony – most of whom work as sweepers – want government agencies to hire sweepers on a permanent basis and pay better remunerations and not hire them on contract.
