Poll panel sends notice to Congress’ Ajit Jogi for ‘shocking’ remark

Senior Congress leader Ajit Jogi has been served a notice by the Returning officer of Kunkuri Assembly constituency in Chhattisgarh for allegedly violating the poll code by misleading tribal voters over the functioning of EVMs when they cast their vote. According to election officials, addressing a public meeting in Kunkuri constituency of Jashpur district on November 11, Mr Jogi had said people will suffer an electric shock if they press buttons on EVMs, other than that of the Congress candidate in the fray, while exercising their franchise.
