Revamping Madrasas – Can Modi’s ‘Mission Modernisation’ Succeed?

The most important question that madrasas confront today is neither about their funding nor about their acceptability among the Indian Muslim community because both are a given. It is about making them relevant in the current education scenario. Sections of the ulema view the move as government intervention that will dilute the essentially theological nature of the madrasas.
