SC directs Odisha, AP to take steps to prevent exploitation of workers

Taking suo motu cognizance of the media reports of an incident where the right palms of two migrant workers were allegedly chopped off by the contractor in Andhra Pradesh who hired them, the SC called for a policy to prevent exploitation of migrant labourers. “What kind of a country we are living in. This has not happened in the most of the primitive time and world,” the bench of the Supreme Court remarked. (Audio in Hindi)
