Tehelka case: Tarun Tejpal arrested on charges of rape

Tarun Tejpal, the founder of Tehelka, has been arrested on charges of raping a junior colleague after a court in Goa rejected his anticipatory bail plea. Mr Tejpal was arrested from the Goa crime branch office in Dona Paula shortly after 9 pm, where he had been camping for almost five hours. He will be taken to the government medical college soon for a medical check-up before he is taken into custody. Mr Tejpal will tomorrow be produced in court, where the duration of his remand with the police will be decided.
