Telangana farmer suicides: Family members hold ‘dharna’ in Hyderabad, seek help

The Telugu Desam Party today sought to embarrass Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao by organising a dharna or demonstration in Hyderabad, with the widows and children of nearly 100 farmers who have killed themselves in KCR’s home district of Medak. The women and children sat on a stage, holding photos of their father or their husband, who committed suicide after their crops failed repeatedly and they were no longer able to carry their debt burden.
