Estimates say over 1.2 lakh people have died in road accidents in India over the past decade. But besides the obvious human tragedy, what the govt should also be worried about is the economic impact of these accidents. According to a report of the World Health Organization, 3% of the country’s GDP is lost due to road accidents every year.
