“As far as India goes, we get far too little credit for how much we have contributed to where India is now. The IMF was with India during the great liberalisation of the early 1990s. I think much of what you see of growth nowadays has its roots in that liberalisation,” says Mr Rajan, the chief economist at Indian Monetary Fund.
