Ashwin is a potential leader in the future: Sunil Gavaskar

Sunil Gavaskar is of the opinion that R Ashwin has the potential to be a future captain of India. He praises the bowler’s hard work and also feels that Ashwin can bat higher up if required. Ashwin contributed 92 not out in an unbroken stand of 198 for the 7th wicket with Rohit Sharma. Gavaskar also said that Shane Shillingford brought in some variety into the Windies bowling attack. On Sachin’s dismissal, Gavaskar mentioned that he played down the wrong line and got out. He is confident that if Rohit and Ashwin stick around, India can take a big lead and not have to bat a second time.
