Ahead of India’s 68th Independence Day, NDTV visits Banetha village, 50 km from Rajasthan’s capital Jaipur, where 14 families still weave the cloth that goes into the making of our national flag. These people have been doing it for three generations and they are supplied thread from the Khadi Sansthan in Dausa for weaving. The weaved cloth is then given to the Khadi Sansthan from where it is sent to other parts of the country to be made into the flag. The specialty of this cloth is that it’s hand woven and very resilient.
