Wing Commander Good Man
Period : 1965 Indo Pak WarWing commander Goodman led an IAF squadron entrusted with the task of destroying enemy tank and troop concentrations in the Chhamb reigons during the Indo-Pak war of 1965. Pakistan had launched a strong Armour attack there that threatened to cut the Indian lines of communication in Kashmir. Between Sept 2 and 8, the squadron undertook several missions, attacking tank concentrations and troop positions at Champ and Saurian. On Sep 9, two aircraft led by Goodman launched an air strike between Kaiser and Rewind. They destroyed 20 tanks being carried by rail. Despite heavy enemy firing Goodman also led an attack on tanks and guns concentrated at Chawinda. Under his able leadership Squadron launched several air strikes on enemy postions.
