The admission process in Delhi University finally kicked off on Monday as colleges came out with cut-off lists with B Com and economics honours courses witnessing the most competition.

The first cut-off list of DU for the third time touched the 100%-mark with three rank outsider colleges this time putting the ceiling at maximum for admission to its B.Sc (Computer Science) course.

Colleges kept up the tradition of sky-high cut-offs with the Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC) setting a benchmark of between 99.50% and 97.50% for admission to its B Com (honours) course. In 2012, the cut-off was between 98.5% and 96.5% .

The increase in cut-offs was expected after the number of students scoring more than 95% marks in the CBSE class 12 board exams increased to 8,971 in 2014 from 5,996 last year.

For economics (honours), the cut-off at SRCC was between 98.25% and 97.50%, a rise from 96.75% in 2012.
