Tarun Tejpal's anticipatory bail plea hearing: Crucial test for Goa prosecution today
New Delhi/Panaji – Evading arrest in a sexual assault case against him, Tehelka founder-editor Tarun Tejpal went missing Friday as police teams reached his Delhi residence to arrest him.
A team from Goa Police, assisted by officers of Delhi Police Crime Branch, went to Tejpal’s Delhi residence at 6 a.m. Friday to arrest him.
Tejpal, however, was not at home and the family members said they did not know where he was.
“The police team went to arrest him but he was not there. We are now enquiring from his friends and relatives,” a police official told IANS.
“We will arrest him soon,” the official said.
Goa Police have issued a non-bailable arrest warrant against Tejpal.
