Johnson leaps into world's top 10 after beating Woods in World Challenge

Ottawa – Zach Johnson has jumped into the top 10 of this week’s world golf rankings by defeating tournament host Tiger Woods in a playoff at the World Challenge on Sunday, according to reports.

According to TheSportsNetwork.com, Woods maintained his No. 1 overall ranking again, while Adam Scott and Henrik Stenson held firm in second and third.

Justin Rose and Phil Mickelson swapped places with Rose inching up the fourth and Mickelson dropping a place to fifth, the report said.

Rory McIlroy, Matt Kuchar and Steve Stricker stayed put in sixth through eighth ahead of Johnson, whose move caused Brandt Snedeker and Jason Day to each drop a spot to 10th and 11th, the report added.

Graeme McDowell was again 12th, while Jason Dufner fell a pair of slots to 13th and Ian Poulter, Dustin Johnson and Luke Donald all fell a place to sit 14th to 16th, the report further said.

Charl Schwartzel and Jim Furyk swapped places to own Nos. 17 and 18, respectively, and Sergio Garcia and Keegan Bradley did the same to round out the top 20, the report mentioned.
