AHMEDABAD: Gujarat University (GU) has decided to conduct offline admission for 5,000-odd commerce students who were left without admissions after the completion of second round of the online procedure. This year, GU had introduced centralized admissions for BCom, BBA, BCA and MSc (IT) and the procedure was online.

Officials said it was decided at a meeting to have offline admission for the left-out students. However, the details of the offline admission will be declared later.

Authorities were of the opinion that the admission for these left-out students should be completed before the results of the supplementary exam (HSC) were out. “GU will conduct admission for the supplementary exam passouts separately and, if required, will increase the seats in colleges,” said officials. Principals of some commerce colleges said admission for left-out students and supplementary exam passouts should be conducted together to save time.
