Tokyo – Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has issued a fresh warning to China against its increasing maritime activities near the disputed Senkaku Island in the East China Sea.

Abe promised to increase the surveillance and intelligence activities to protect the remote islands, saying that Japan did not allow a change in the status quo regarding their control on the disputed islets, the Japan Times reports.

Abe also warned of resorting to make changes to the interpretation of the war-renouncing Constitution law, so that it can engage in collective self-defense.
