London – A new study has revealed that parents feel out of touch with the younger generation.

Almost 4 out of 10 parents feel disconnected from their children and 1 in 4 believe that their children perceive them as funny and old fashioned and “very uncool”, the Daily Express reported.

The study found that those parents who don’t keep up with pop charts, can’t operate an iPhone or have no idea what twerking is, or who Harry Styles is, fall in the category of “uncool” parents.

However, one of the researchers behind the study, which marks the release of ‘Modern Family’ on Blu-ray and DVD, warned parents that if they tried too hard to keep up, they may end up being more “uncool” than they were in the first place.
