A new study has revealed that aged people, who have high blood pressure, can decrease their death risk with moderate fitness.

Charles Faselis, M.D, said that old age people can achieve reasonable level of fitness by engaging in brisk walking of 20 to 40 minutes, most days of the week. To determine the men”s peak fitness levels, researchers applied the international units used to measure fitness called metabolic equivalents (METs) and found that after an average follow-up of nine years they found that the death risk was 11 percent lower for every one-MET increase in exercise capacity.
