Moderate earthquake rocks Assam

Guwahati – A moderate intensity earthquake measuring 5.5 on the Richter scale rocked Assam Wednesday, the India Seismological Department said.

The quake, which struck at 9.46 a.m., had an epicentre in the Karbi Anglong region in Assam.

The quake had a depth of 20 km.

There were no immediate reports of casualties or damage.
