Youth commits suicide by hanging himself; 2 others consume poison

A 25-year-old youth allegedly committed suicide in Sambhalhera village of the district, police said on Wednesday. Sanjiv, who got married a fortnight ago, hanged himself from a ceiling fan at his residence on Tuesday, they said.

In another incident, two youths- Niraj(23) and Kamla(20) attempted suicide by consuming poison in Jasoee village of the district last evening. The couple took the extreme step after their families opposed their marriage. They were later admitted to a hospital, police said.
