London – Former football star Curtis Woodhouse has said that he once got invited to bet on a club to lose by five or more goals and then saw them get hammered 8-0, according to reports.

According to the Daily Star, Woodhouse then said that match fixing had been going on for ages and loads of players he played with bet on games on who would be booked or sent off.

He added that its old news and can confirm he never had a bet on a game he had been part of and never would, adding that what happens is wrong.

Woodhouse, who played for Birmingham before quitting to become a boxer, spoke out after police arrested six people over match-fixing claims, the report said.
