Washington – Former basketball star Dennis Rodman is planning to travel to North Korea next week to train its basketball team, despite reports of rising instability in the nation after the execution of leader Kim Jong Un’s uncle.

Rodman considers Kim a close friend and has a long-scheduled trip that starts Monday to train the national team, Politico reports.

Kim’s traitor uncle Jang Song Thaek’s was reportedly executed for power abuse and trying to overthrow the state.

Rodman also has organized an exhibition game in Pyongyang beginning January to celebrate Kim’s birthday, the report added.
