WHANGAREI, New Zealand (AP) Ajinkya Rahane top-scored with 60 as India made 313-7 to draw its two-day tour match against a New Zealand XI on Monday ahead of the first cricket test against New Zealand.

Rohit Sharman made 59, spending 101 minutes at the crease and hitting seven boundaries.

Ambati Rayudu was 49 not out and Ravichandran Ashwin made 46 in India’s reply to the New Zealand Xi’s 262-9 declared.

Test batsman Cheteshwar Pujara, in his first innings in New Zealand, made 33 with four boundaries.

India was able to give time in the middle to all of its batsmen ahead of the first of two tests against New Zealand which starts in Auckland on Thursday.
