Francis Bacon artwork sells for all time record price of $142.4 M

London – A painting by artist Francis Bacon, which recently sold for 142.4 million dollars, has become the most expensive work of art ever sold at an action, beating even Edvard Munch’s ‘The Scream’.

‘Three Studies of Lucian Freud’ was expected to fetch 85 million dollars but it easily surpassed the 119.9 million-dollar price of Munch’s artwork, Sky News reported.

Bacon’s painting was auctioned off at Christie’s Auction House in NYC to an anonymous bidder.
