Management Courses in India

Management courses are counted amongst the most sought after professional courses in contemporary India. The management courses are primarily aimed at enabling the students to become successful in the professional world. The courses are designed to educate the students about the nitty-gritty of the corporate life and also to make them able to survive in difficult conditions. Management is all about controlling and coordinating the work of other people in the organisation. The Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) course is another sought after management course in India. This is a bachelor's degree in business studies and in most universities; the degree is given after four years of full-time study in one or more areas of business concentrations. Both the general business courses and advanced courses for specific concentrations are included in the BBA programme. The BBA course is called as BSBA (Bachelor of Science in Business Administration) in some colleges and universities; however, the requirements and course content are the same. A student usually studies a variety of subjects while pursuing a BBA course. The hotel management courses in India have recently gained immense popularity. The main reason behind this is the recent growth in the hospitality industry. There are many institutes that provide hospitality and hotel management courses in India. The courses are designed to make one aware of the operating-sections of the hotel industry like front office, general operations, sales and marketing, food and beverage, service keeping and catering, etc. The time duration of the courses offered usually vary from six months to three years.

The retail management courses in India have also made huge waves. Admissions in most of the Indian business schools follow a marks-basis admission in courses like BBA, BBS and BBM. However, some business schools also organise entrance examination for admission in these courses. The examination includes written test, group discussion (GD) and private interviews (PI), etc. The IIMs conduct a Common Admission Test (CAT) every year and many other business schools select the students, based on the other popular entrance examinations like XAT, MAT, IIFT, SNAP, JMET, etc. In many business schools in India, the cumulative scores of the Entrance Exam, GD/PIs are considered before selecting a candidate for the MBA course.

The candidates who opt to pursue hospitality and hotel management courses in India are required to pass the 10+2 examination with English as a subject. The institutes also admit students holding a bachelor`s degree from any recognised university in some of the management training schemes. However, the students also have to appear for a written admission test, group discussion and personal interview. Admission depends on the performance of the students in the written test, personal interview round and group discussion session. One can apply for admission in retail management courses in India, just after completing higher secondary education. The students desirous to pursue diploma course in management are required to hold a graduate degree from a recognised university.

The students can purse management courses in both regular and open universities as well.
