With a metro population of over 7.75 million people, Hyderabad is the largest city in Andhra Pradesh. As a result, there are a number of must see places in Hyderabad that guests should be sure to check out during their time in the city. Chilkur Balaji Temple is one of the oldest sites in the city, which provides insight into Hyderabad's unique history. Other popular attractions include Golconda Fort, the Falaknuma Palace, the Charminar, and Kasu Brahmananda Reddy National Park, which contains thousands of different animal, bird and plant species and is described as a jungle located inside of the city.

Warrangal

Located 157 kms to the north east of Hyderabad, this city is famous for its ancient temple architecture. The famous thousand-pillared temple built by the Kakatiya King, Rudra Deva in 1163 A.D. is located in Warrangal. This star-shaped shrine is dedicated to Lord Shiva, Vishnu and Surya. The temple is noted for its beautifully carved pillars, images etc.

Pakhal Wildlife Sanctuary

Located 200 kms from Hyderabad, this wildlife sanctuary was built by the Kakatiya dynasty around 1213 A.D. Spanning an area of 900 sq. kms., the sanctuary is located on the shores of the Pakhal Lake.

Vijayawada

Named after the goddess Kanakadurga, this city is located 271 kms from Hyderabad. It is famous for its caves and temples, which contain inscriptions dating back to the first century. For those keen on savoring Andhra pickles, this place is famous for its mango pickle.

Bhadrachalam

Located at a distance of 300 kms from Hyderabad, this place is famous for its temple dedicated to Sri Seetha Ramachandraswamy. The temple houses the 48 different forms of Lord Vishnu.
