A steep path and then huge, high walls enclose the fort and several temples. The fortification walls have several scenic lookout points, which is sure to delight visitors.

A climb of 10 minutes from Achalgarh brings one to the beautiful Jain Temples. Another famous temple in the vicinity is the Achleshwar Temple, which is famous for its Nandi Bull, the sacred cow of Lord Shiva. The Nandi Bull is made of 5 different metals and weighs a whopping 4 tonnes. The Shiva Linga that is normally represented by a phallus is seen as a deep hole. It is said that Lord Shiva had placed his foot at that spot. The picturesque Mandakini Lake is also in this area. The lake is surrounded by rocky hills with images of a Rajput King and buffaloes.
